Devotional objects that are created with precious materials imbue them with a reverence that I find necessary in this work. My fascination with the mineral world is ongoing, a connection I deeply value. I want to understand how the inorganic builds the lattices for the organic, and where that divine spark is kindled. These crystals are bodily in form, and by affixing them to woven silver and reflective gold they develop a visual relationship to the scapular. In this way the necklaces act as an invitation to the wearer to contemplate these ideas on their own."
